I'm back yet again!!!! Can't keep a dedicated fractalist down for long!!! Yippeeeee!
Thanks so very much for all the prayers and good wishes from all my dear friends!!!!
Can't really tell ya what it was, first they said heart attack, then not, then it was, then
it wasn't again!! lol So obviously they just didn't know!! (Which is even more scary then
the heart attack!)!!
I went to bed the other morning and had some pretty intense pain in my chest, thru my
shoulder and down my left arm. It had happened last week also but taking an aspirin seemed
to fix the problem. This time it was very intense and I took some Nitro that I have to keep
handy at all times. The pain disappeared once the Nitro went to work but came back even
stronger after 15 minutes! I figured I was in trouble.
I hopped in the Jeep and took off for a hospital where I had done some cardiac rehab in
the past. They took real good care of me and did their best to figure out what was
going on but never did find the cause. They pumped me full of Nitro and blood thinners,
and drew a couple gallons (it seemed like) of blood for testing. There is an enzyme secreted
when having a heart attack and apparently it was there and elevated but not enough for
them to call it a heart attack. When I pushed for a diagnosis they said "it's a heart problem
but not a heart attack"! lol I'm not sure what that means!!
SO I'm back again!!!!!!!! You guys will have to put up with me for a while longer!!! lol
Rick, please take care!!! As everyone has said, we would be extremely upset if you were to "check-out' on us. dA would be a much gloomier place if it weren't for you, so please be sure to keep a close eye on your health and let us know if they ever come up with anything more definitive.
We love you, Rick!! We want you around for a whole lot longer, my friend.
I couldn't do a regular stress test but they have something
else. They gave me a shot of something and stick ya in a
machine where ya can't move a muscle in a weird position for
about 20 minutes. Then they give ya some kind of chemical
that instantly blows your whole bloodstream up while testing
your heart for 4 or 5 minutes! It's very scary as I couldn't
seem to control anything on my body whole they were doing it.
It's like you mind is working but your body is paralyzed!!
Then it's back into the machine for 15 minutes while they inspect
again!!
I was amazed I lived through the test!! Everything seemed ok
as far as they could tell. That enzyme that they check for when
a heart attack is suspected was there and elevated but the ekg
didn't show anything by the time I got to the hospital. They gave
lots of nitro and blood thinners which seemed to help.
I go to see my regular md tomorrow. I know she'll want to send
me to a cardiologist but the one my insurance wants me to go to
is from the group that broke a wire off in my heart the first
time I had a heart attack and then covered it up. Said it never
happened and I was never there!!! I refuse to go back to their
doctors.
Anyway things seem fine now (as much as can be expected). I sure
appreciate the love and kindness from you and all the wonderful
friends I've been lucky enough to have here at DA! It's funny but
all of you here at DA were the first thing I thought of when it
was happening! Thanks so very very much!!
Do what ever it is you have to do to get better!
to know much anymore but they generate a lot of income!
I'm not planning on going anywhere but if I do you
should know how much I appreciate your friendship
and support!
