Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

Our dear friend Light!

As most of you already know, our dear friend Light is stepping down
from CV of the fractal community! Her heart is broken from the loss
of a dear family member that she took care of for many years!

She's such a wonderful lady and has given so much to us and I'm
sure everyone she knows! We were so lucky to have her as CV for
as long as we did!

I've been trying to think of some way to ease her pain and show her
how much she has meant to us! I'm not coming up with much! The
only thing I can think of is to do some mega features of some of her
beautiful work! Near as I can tell, she could easily have had a DD
every single day with the amazing fractals she's created and shared
with all of us!

Please join me in honoring our favorite CV by featuring some of your
favorites of her wonderful work! Maybe we can lift her spirit if only for
a moment by showing our appreciation!

I am so sorry to hear that Light is stepping down as CV. But, I can certainly understand it. I was so saddened to hear about the loss of her Grannie. Light has certainly had some burdens to carry over the last few years and through it all, she has been kind and generous to the fractal community here on dA and has been the best CV I've seen for fractals! She worked very hard promoting the art of some well known artists and the newcomers as well. I wish her all the best and that her pain of losing her Grannie soon fades and she is left with just some wonderful memories. Take care, Light, and thank you so much for being "the Light in our lives".

Thanks Peggi! She's a great lady and even when the chips
are down she's always seems to be helping someone with something!
I remember not to long ago she helped an older fellow having
some heart problems who wouldn't listen and do what he was
supposed to! Apparently he listens to her!

I hope things go much better for her in the future! Lets hope
all her kindness and sharing come back to her soon!!!!
